Here’s Why Jr. NTR Turned Down ‘Brahmotsavam’
Superstar Mahesh Babu’s latest flick Brahmotsavam has already hit the screens a week back on May 20th across the world. Brahmotsavam was the much-anticipated Telugu movie of Mahesh Babu and everyone expected that it would become a blockbuster hit and add up to his hit movies list in his movie career. But, unfortunately, the movie didn’t impress the Telugu audience due to the direction and screenplay.
In fact, Mahesh Babu was not the original choice for Telugu family entertainer “Brahmotsavam”, which is currently running in theatres globally. The project was first offered to Young Tiger Jr. NTR, who turned down the proposal as he was quite hopeless with its script.
According to some sources, “Director Srikanth Addala’s first choice was NTR, and he was approached with the project over a year ago. Although NTR liked the idea, he wanted some changes to be incorporated in the script and expected it to be rewritten.”
NTR had given Addala an ultimatum, to come back with a different draft of the script.Although waiting for months, Addala didn’t come up with a reasonableand satisfactory script. Therefore, NTR was gone with no option other than to move on. It was almost the same time he’d signed director Sukumar’s ‘Nannaku Prematho’.
Nannaku Prematho movie was released earlier this year and it has acquired massive response among the audience not only in India but also in overseas. The movie has bagged huge collections at the box office and stood as one of the best films in the career of Jr. NTR.
Meanwhile, “Brahmotsavam” is turning towards a disaster at the ticket window. The social media has become a platform to make funny pranks, memes on Brahmotsavam movie since its release. Recently, the popular news media Indian Express apologized Mahesh Babu for publishing an article by criticizing the movie as Floputsavam.
