We have seen several actresses from the South Indian film industry who allegedly attempted suicide and some others slew themselves. In some cases, the reason behind their suicide did not remain just as a mystery. The South Indian film industry is mostly male dominating field especially the heroes and other senior artists. There are many co-stars in the industry who show their authority and domination over juniors and debut actors.
In the recent times, the popular actresses like Radhika Apte and Taapsee Pannu in Pink movie have opposed the male domination and gave thought-provoking statements over the arrogance and attitude of a male in the South film industry. The current latest news is that the actress from Tamil industry has allegedly attempted suicide for being harassed sexually by a movie director.
The actress who has attempted suicide is a Tamil actress namely Aditi also known as Athira Santhosh. She has come from Kerala to the South Indian film industry. The actress has consumed poison in the recent times after sexually being harassed by a film maker. Soon after consuming poison, the actress was rushed to a nearby hospital in Chennai.
After recovering, the actress stated to the media that the movie director namely Selva Kannan has sexually abused her and she has also given a police complaint about the director. In NadigarSangam, the police complaint against the actress was filed against Selva Kannan. According to the latest reports, the filmmaker has allegedly forced her to marry him as he was totally in love with the actress. But, the actress declined his proposal and from then, Selva began harassing the actress.
Later, the director started behaving like a psychic person and locked her in a room. However, the actress absconded from the room and returned to her hometown Kerala. After coming back to Chennai for some commercial ad shoot, the director went to her alongside others and started harassing her physically on the set. That’s the reason, the actress decided to kill herself.
