Young hero Sundeep Kishan, has become one of the most promising actors in recent times. After the success of Venkatadri Express and Ra Ra Krishnaiyya, he is back with the comedy entertainer ‘Joru’. Directed by Kumar Nagendra, this film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Type Of Movie (Genre) :

Comedy,Romance

Story :

Sadashivam (Shayaji Shinde) is a strong MLA in Vizag. Anu (Rashi Khanna) is his daughter who returns from US to meet him. Sundeep (Sundeep Kishan) accidentally meets her and falls flat for her.
One fine day, Bhavani (Ajay) attacks Anu and Sundeep saves her from him. He tries to find out why Bhavani is attacking Anu, and comes to know the real truth from PK (Brahmanandham). Why did Bhavani attack Anu ? How is he related to Anu ? What happens to Sundeep’s love story ? Answers to all these questions form the rest of the story.

Technical Aspects :

Cinematography of the film is good and especially the songs have been shot beautifully. Music of the film is just about ok and so is the background score. Editor could have concentrated more on the first half to make it crisp.
Coming to the captain of the ship Kumar Nagendra, he tries a comedy entertainer after ‘Gundello Godari’ but fails in his execution. Somewhere down the line, he went wrong with his screenplay and messed it up with too many characters.

Plus Points :

Sundeep Kishan gives another matured performance after Ra Ra Krishnayya. He has worked on his body and his comedy timing is very good in the film. He is also good with his dances and shares a good chemistry with Raashi Khanna. Speaking of Raashi, she looks gorgeous and is the major attraction of the film. She does well in the emotional scenes and nicely compliments Sundeep.
The rest of the cast which includes Brahmanandam, Sapthagiri, Priya Banerjee, Sushma, Shayaji Shnde and Ajay have done a decent job. Sapthagiri’s comedy episode in the first half is good. Comedy sequences in the second half are entertaining and climax has slapstick comedy which is also good.

Minus Points :

The pace of the first half is dead slow as the screenplay gets stuck after the introductory scenes. There is no proper flow in the film during this part and once the twist is revealed, rest of the story gets predictable. Priya Banerjee and Sushma Raj are wasted as they have nothing much to do in the film.
Even though Sapthagiri is good, the director could not use him to his potential. Too many characters in the film leave the audience in confusion. Most of the comedy scenes in the film are routine as there is nothing new to offer. Ajay’s character lacks justification and proper ending.

Final Words :

On the whole, ‘Joru’ ends up as just an below average entertainer. Too many characters and boring first half are the major drawbacks of the film. Sundeep Kishan and Raashi Khanna’s performance, climax, and Brahmi’s comedy are the only saving grace. Finally, you can give this film a shot if you have absolutely nothing else to do.
