President’s Rule in Andhra Pradesh !
The Union Government showed the interest in imposing the President’s rule in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The Union Cabinet seems to have taken this decision at the meeting this morning. As soon as the President gives his assent, the President’s Rule comes into effect in the state. After a long period of 41 years, the Presidents Rule is going to be imposed in the state.
However, it was imposed for the first time in AP in 1973 from January 11th to December 10th, for a period of 335 days, during the tenure of P.V.Narasimha Rao as the Chief Minister in the wake of Jai Andhra movement.
