Star Hero turns Director

Superstar Dhanush who has acted in almost 40 movies and proved his talent in other than acting like playback singing, lyric writing and film production and announced today at 9 am that he turns director with his directorial debut film, Power Pandi, featuring senior actor Rajkiran as the lead, and actors Prasanna and Chaya Singh who hold important roles. Dhanush’s directional debut movie will be produced under Dhanush’s home banner Wunderbar Films. Another interesting fact is that senior actor Rajkiran was the lead star in his father’s directional debut too.  The actor earlier announced that his production house will produce superstar Rajinikanth’s next outing after Tamil science-fiction.

Who is this Star Hero?

The real name of this multi talented star Dhanushh is Venkatesh Prabhu who was born on 28 July, 1983 in Chennai. He is also popular as the son-in-law of the famous Indian superstar Rajnikanth who has a huge fan following in Southern Indian Cinema and recently made headlines in Bollywood too. Dhanush’s debut movie was Thulluvadho Ilamai was directed by his father, Kasthuri Raja.

Dhanush has achieved lot in his career at an early stage in life. Dhanush was a hit all over India and when he received international attention with the famous hit song “Why this Kolaveri Di” which was the first Indian video song to cross 100 million views on YouTube. He has acted in almost 40 movies and went on to win 3 National Film Awards and 7 Filmfare Awards. He was nominated for many other awards too. When he received the National Film Award for Best Actor, he became the youngest actor to win the award.

Awaiting Release

Dhanush’s long awaited Thodari is finally set for release soon. Dhanush is presently shooting in Chennai for Vada and will also be seen in director Gautham Menon’s Ennai Nokki Paayum Thotta.
