Charges Filed Against the Owner of KickassTorrents
As per the pdf document of criminal complaint that was filed in the US District Court in Chicago, Vaulin faces, here are the charges that were filed against the owner of the Kickass Torrents site:
- 2 counts of criminal copyright infringement
- 1 count of conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement
- 1 count of conspiracy to commit money laundering
Earlier, the Kickass Torrents website has been totally blocked in several countries such as the UK, Ireland, Italy, Denmark, Belgium, and Malaysia. Besides seizing all the domain name sites of Kickass Torrent, the Chicago court as passed an official order to seize all the bank accounts associated with the illegal pirate website alongside the servers that were located in various countries such as Chicago, USA, and Canada. The official federal countries of the United States state that Kickass Torrents has instigated harms of over $1 Billion to all the copyright holders.
